MEDIUM SUDOKU

A real step up from Easy

Fewer clues, longer searches.
Still solvable with pure logic.

36 CLUES

Fewer starting points

Medium puzzles begin with 36 filled cells. Openings are rarer, so you need to scan the whole grid instead of one obvious area.

SINGLES ONLY

Hidden singles matter

Our solver confirms every Medium grid can be finished with naked and hidden singles. The difference is that hidden singles become essential, and they are harder to spot.

Time to settle in

Expect 10 to 20 minutes. If you get stuck, notes help you see where each digit can still go.

TECHNIQUES FOR MEDIUM

How to solve a medium Sudoku

Try it now ↗
  1. Hunt for hidden singles

Choose a box and a missing digit. If that digit fits in only one cell of the box, place it, even if the cell could hold other digits. Do the same for rows and columns.

  2. Use notes on crowded areas

Press N (or tap Notes) and write the possible digits in a few cells. Shift plus a number adds a note directly. When you place a correct digit, Sudoku Prime removes it from the notes around it.

  3. Work digit by digit

Count how many of each digit are placed. The number pad shows how many remain. Digits with only one or two left are usually the easiest to finish.

  4. Never guess

Every Medium puzzle has a single solution reachable by logic. If nothing seems possible, scan again with a different digit before using a hint.

GOOD TO KNOW

A little clarity
before you play.

The details, without the distractions.

What is the difference between easy and medium Sudoku?

Medium puzzles start with 36 clues instead of 43. They are still solvable with singles, but hidden singles become essential and harder to spot.

Do I need notes for medium Sudoku?

Not always, but notes help a lot. Press N or tap Notes, or use Shift plus a number to add a note directly.

Are the medium puzzles unlimited?

Yes. Every new puzzle is generated on the spot and checked to have exactly one solution.

Does the game save my progress?

Yes, when browser storage is available. Each difficulty and the Daily Sudoku keep their own saved game in this browser, so switching levels never erases your progress.
